The sprinkle cabs from the other night were ALL successful! I think they are so cool and colorful. I have plans to use them with the metal that's coming in the mail some time this week. I'm not sure I can see them as beads, so I haven't drilled any holes in them so far, but that might change.
I also stopped in the middle of making a couple of these and ended up with what I call "Candy Geodes." I don't think they're actually useable because they're not very structurally sound, but they make me smile when I look at them. So I've put them on my desk and I'll think about ways I can have this same look in a way that is functional.

For tomorrow's blog: I just finished the second step for a bunch of new resin beads. I filled some molds halfway with plain, clear resin last night. Today, at lunch, I stamped some of them (without removing the clear part from the molds) and then filled them to the top. Some of them just have clear resin again, so it should come out with the stamp "floating" in the middle." But most of them have some kind of pigment added, either acrylic paint or alcohol inks. These should add a punch of color behind the stamped image. We'll see how they come out! Oh - and I made another comic bangle with a thicker band. I just added a little extra at the top to round out the other side. Hopefully, this time both sides will look more finished.
I really like the candy geodes! I hope that you can make them functional in some way. You know how I love those sprinkle cabs! I can't wait to see what you do with them!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the floating stamp! I've never heard of the idea before, so kudos to you for coming up with something unique!
