I practiced my soldering a little at lunch today. These two are the best from that test. I think I've figured out what most of my problems are. I got the new soldering iron and the new technique, but most of the experimenting I did here was using pieces that I'd already made a mess of (including these). Theoretically, you should be able to go back to any piece and fix it, but I think I need to start again from scratch to get the technique down BEFORE I go to the more advanced stage of fixing a trainwreck. So maybe this weekend I'll have a little time to do some more playing.
