Prepwork

My day got off to a late start with an 11:00 am wake up time. I did a little work, even though I had the day off, just to make sure Monday starts with a bit more of a clean slate. Then Tim and I did a little shopping. I bought a few new flowers for testing, and some small pieces of copper tubing. I envision lots of uses for the tubing, especially using my good pal resin. :) We also bought a tube cutter and found out that it's not really very useful on very small pieces of copper, since there's not much to hold on to. But we got a couple of pieces cut and they are rolling around in my tumbler right now to get them all shiny and smooth.

I also cut off a few flowers and set them into some Damp Rid. The (very few) instructions that I have found about drying flowers all say to put them in silica gel. Tim says this will work, so I'm giving it a shot. Here's a picture of them in the container. Should take several days to see results, but I'll let you know how well that turns out.

I'm also going to use one of the copper tube pieces to make a resin mold for a ring...if I can find my two-part epoxy mold-making stuff. *sigh* Looks like tomorrow's a cleaning day. But only after I hit the Metrolina Expo for the monthly antique show (and bead show at the same time this time)! I don't usually buy anything, but I'm always hopeful that there will be something amazing to spark my creativity. Wish me luck!
