One of my new favorite things to do with resin: mix in acrylic paint and add to metal blanks or brass stampings. When it dries, it looks very much like enamel. I still want to try the real thing, and I've purchased an enameling kit so I can, but this doesn't require a kiln! The one on the bottom was my first attempt - the messy part on the bottom is where I learned not to use paintbrushes. Since you can't reuse paintbrushes once they've been used for resin, the temptation is to use cheap ones. I did that and the bristles that came off ended up floating to the top. I didn't see them until the resin was halfway cured. Oops!
You know I love these right? And they really do look like enamel up close!
